This is my first time hosting CoM. Sorry for those who normally read my blog, I’ve been offline for a few weeks, but back at it again.
Antoine RJ Wright has a post Why Use A Web Server on a Mobile Device. I think he is attempting to host the post from his mobile phone. He apologizes in advance if the post is not available during the day.
Sachendra Yadav wrote about LBS: User Acceptance is the biggest challenge for Location Based Services (LBS). I would agree that this is one of the more pressing issues to get people using LBS more, but also for developers, how to think about incorporating LBS into their app or service that doesn’t seem like Big Brother is watching.
Holly Kolman from mobiEnthusiast has a post about how in Japan, it’s a common place for people to write both a mobile and web version of their site. This would seem against all the rules of SEO, Pagerank and marketing that I have known, but each mobile market has its own rules that work.
Andrew Grill writes about Advertising in 2020 – A Sneak Peak From Ogilvy and Acision. There is also a link to a whitepaper with more details.
Andy Favell from mobiThinking writes about Why recession is a great time to invest in mobile. I would echo similar points that in this recession, one of the few things people are not parting with is their mobile.
Peggy Anne Salz from msearchgroove wrote why Mobile Search Is (STILL) Broken; Why Verticals & Social Search Make More Sense. Strange that the topic is not going away, and solving this problem is much harder than people originally thought.
Ajit Jaokar from futuretext writes Why does religion hate social networks? Of Russians, archbishops, Amish farmers, Social networks and the creation of a global Identity. Conservative and mass market seem to define religion, not cutting edge.
Lastly, Embee Mobile Blog wrote about the demise of Virgin Mobile USA’s Sugar Mama service: No More Sugar Mama – Where Can I Get My Fix?. People like free stuff. Take it away from them and they will find alternatives.
